Tiny and 2 Wrestlers

Last week, I went into an herbal health store, and saw wrestler William Regal.

About 4 weeks ago... I saw former wrestler Abdulah the Butcher @ an IHOP, @ Greenbriar Mall. Actually got the opportunity to talk to him. Cool guy. Full of wisdom. He still has deep scars on his forehead from when they would cut themselves as wrestlers to draw blood in front of the audience.

Abdulah owns a soul food resturant here in Atlanta. Well, I told him I went to his resturant when it opened. He looked at me like I was a kid just out of highschool. He said it opened 15 years ago. I was like yeah, I'm old enough.

(Why am I bringing up age... on Saturday, someone thought I was 28. And on Friday, @ Publix, the cashier was asking me if I'm going to the game. The local high shcool football gave of "some school" vs Banneker. I'm like "Banneker... I graduated from there. A long time ago." OK, I didn't say that. Woulda sounded mean.

And 3 weeks ago, I was at a club (The Compound), and saw Tiny. As in T.I.'s baby mama Tiny. Of the B.E.T. show Toi & Tiny. It was on a Saturday Night, after they taped the B.E.T. awards. She, and her entourage of beautiful female friends walked by me (or me by them) 3 times that night.

Celebrity Sighting Last Night

I was at Taco Mac on Peachtree St last night. And in walks comedian Chris Rock. He and his buddies had wings, fries, and sweet tea. He even has his familiar mannerisms i've noticed on tv. When he talks, he has his hands on his neck a lot.

I didn't bother Chris. I only saw one person walk up to him, grinning ear to ear, to get an autograph.

But I am a fan, i just didn't want to bother they guy.

So to date, i've seen:

Tyler Perry in a Carrabas.

Keshia Knight Pulliam twice. (once at Wings of Tyrone, again at breakfast at West Egg).

Real Housewife of Atlanta Kandi Burruss stopped into my barber shop once- to chit chat with my barber.

Eric Jerome Dickey in Barnes & Noble. (Jackie from my writers group pulled him over to talk to our group.)

Kenny Leon at a production of the play Fences (by awesome playwright August Wilson).

Lil Mama. Patrick Swayze. Kanye West. Obama.

Staycation Over

Dear Diary,

Vacation over. Going back to work today.
But I was productive. Which is good. I'm still energized. After seven years, i finally treated the house right.

I edged the yard, cut the hedges, put down red mulch, planted a tree (crepe myrtle- blossom crimson) and a bush (Hydrangea- blossom baby blue i hope).

After long delay, i set up my aquarium. And bought my first 2 fish. I named them Mike & Mack.

I forgot what type of fish they are, but i'll find out next time i go to Pet Smart.

Mr Elephant
Did you grow up with an elephant in your house. My mom had some porcelain (I guess that's what it's made of) elephant in the house. I never paid the thing attention. Until I went to other houses, and noticed lots of people had elephants in their houses. What gives? One of my friends mom once explained it to me. The elephant is for good luck.
OK, i don't know what that generation was smoking. But, I now have the elephant from my moms' house. It is a family heirloom. Her mother gave it to her. I named the elephant Ralphie.

Answer: They were all Fired from Saturday Night Live @ some point.
1981, after competition & low ratings, Gilbert Gottfried was fired.
Robert Downey Jr fired in 1986 after a ratings slump.
Horatio Sanz, and Finesse Mitchell fired due to budget cuts.
Chris Parnell. Fired TWICE, due to budget cuts.
Nora Dunn fired due to her refusal to appear in an episode hosted by controversial comedian Andrew Dice Clay
Chris Farley was fired. I'm not sure why exactly.
Sarah Silverman fired because none of her skits even made it to air in an entire year.
Damon Wayns fired on his first episode. He had one line to say, but he decided to do it flamboyant gay.
Norm McDonald, fired because he did too many O.J. jokes.

Disney buys Marvel. (Quick Post)

I'm ambivalent on the subject of DISNEY buying MARVEL comics for 4 Billion. Plus & Minuses all around.
Most criticism stems from the fear of Disney making Marvel characters too kiddie.

But, i ran across a blog that plays around with the other side.

Everything gets so hip now-a-days! Everything is getting darker and more serious. So what if Disney uses Marvel to make their characters... hip?

I don't care what u say. That Snow White is off the hizzle!! :) Ask your daughters. LOL.

Dragon Con 2009

So i did manage to make it to the Dragon Con Parade this year.

Have you heard the story of 1000 monkey, @ 1000 typewriters, for 1000 years, would eventually produce a work of Shakespeare? Well, that's the same probability of me getting a good shot.

I have a simple little digital camera, with an AMAZINGLY long delay that prevents so many shots.
I got some shots that ended up blurry.
I didn't get there early enough for a good location.
There was this guy with the gray hair, and he ended up in so many of my shots. HATE HIM!

By the end of the parade, I was in a position to get some relatively clear shots.But here are the best of the best of what I took.
